A bit about the journey . . .

Throughout the last twenty five years I reflect back on working with children and youth in various capacities - as a mentor, youth leader, program director, teacher, and a mother of two now adult children and two beautiful grandchildren. Coming alongside children and youth, teachers, and volunteers in helping adults make sense of the children in their care from the inside out has been a privilege and joy, and continues to be a passion that brings life and meaning.

One of the things I have discovered along the journey is that as human beings we all walk a journey in life that at times and seasons can leave us feeling stuck. This is not relevant to age, and while I have learned and experienced many things in walking with children and youth, and personally, the heart of emotion threads throughout the lifespan.

All of this led to furthering education in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Associate Faculty with the Neufeld Institute. The heart of continuing on in working with parents, children and youth, couples, and individuals rises from a passion and longing to come alongside all ages in emotional health and well being. Family dynamics play such an important piece in taking steps toward this and I absolutely love the heart of 'home' that family creates within the context of emotional safety and evidence based developmental science

It has been inspiring and fulfilling to walk the inner world of emotional health and well- being individually, and with people of all ages in many walks and nationalities. We are resilient, we are adaptive, we are beautiful, we instinctively cope when things are too much, and deep within, we all long to be known and seen from the inside out. Relationship lies at the core, it becomes the bottom line, the thing we hold on to above all. I love to capture the heart of relationship and longing within those that come across my path.

In the balance of life, spending time with family and friends, music, cooking, and summer days at the lake are some of the most enjoyable and fulfilling free time moments. Relationship, connection, and developmental attachment deeply influence and inspire both personal and professional roles.

Tracy Azevedo MA, RMFT

A born and raised Saskatchewan girl, I hold a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Associate Faculty with the Neufeld Institute. A vast spectrum of education, work, and life experience come together to provide insight from which to come alongside others in navigating the journey of life. Counselling is offered within the context of individuals, families, as well as parent consulting. Through the many seasons and circumstances that life holds, a developmental attachment based approach invites an atmosphere of safety, belonging, and value in navigating the vulnerable and important steps forward.
